As a technical translator and English teacher, I’ve always been passionate about bridging language gaps. Early in my career, working as a freelancer, I quickly learned that translation wasn’t just about words. It was also about wrestling with design and formatting issues that felt like a whole other language themselves.

Some of my most significant translations for the mining industry, while linguistically accurate, suffered from visual inconsistencies and subtle formatting flaws. Looking back, these details, which I now recognize as DTP challenges, really impacted the overall professionalism of my final deliveries.
I even roped in my graphic designer boyfriend to help!
